"Let Your Light Shine ... Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us ... ." -Marianne Williamson

My counseling style weaves together spirituality and psychology. I am trained in a systems approach that is holistic and inclusive. I am open to receiving families, elders, and children from the age of 5 years, adolescents, individuals and people from all walks of life into my practice.

Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and in an evidence based practice known as MultiSystemic Therapy; most recently, I have focused on children aged 9 years - 18 years and their families.

Together, we will learn and grow within the parameters set by the client. As an empathetic, active listener, I am able to create a safe container that encourages growth and allows for the re-patterning of old fears. Collaboratively, we will discover solutions to the clients' concerns. This could involve short term or long term counseling based on the needs of the client. Vital to the client-therapist bond is the development of a trusting relationship; this is crucial for results to occur.

Successful therapy requires that the client be open to change and willing to attend to their past, present and future as required. A client will need to take actions in order to bring about change in their life. My role is to be present in a supportive manner every step of the way; fully aware the client is in the lead. During therapy, the person's spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health will be considered, as these are elements of an individual. Larger systems involved in a client's life may also be invited into the sessions; this could include families, friends, work relationship, intimate relationships, and any social system connected to the client. There are many dimensions to an individual's life and the focus will shift depending on the client's situation.

Whatever the concern that brings you in for counseling, there will be self-discovery and the opportunity to develop compassion. Learning about responsibility to self and other is also important. Deepening our connection to self and to those around us is a valuable goal. I am excited to be part of your journey whenever you are ready to begin.
